Vibratory gyroscopes exploit a coriolis force coupling between two degrees of freedom internal to the sensor for detection of the sensor' s angular rotation rate. Vibratory gyroscopes provide ubiquitous opportunities for local feedback compensation to achieve harmonic excitation of selected modes, disturbence rejection, and tuning of the sensor' s dynamics. This paper reports a digital feedback and readout electronics for the Vibratory gyroscopes. The goal of the digital concept is to minimize noise and temperature drifts caused by the analog components of the readout electronics. This paper also describes the design of the DSP algorithm of the AGC block in the local feedback loop of the Vibratory gyroscopes and the simulation of the Digital AGC loop. Both open-loop and close-loop simulation result of the feedback loop with a Digital AGC are presented. The implentation of the Digital algorithm on a general-purpose DSP TMS320C5416 is successfully accomplished. |
