MPLS has become one of the most potential technologies to buildup VPN as the fast development of network.The VPN based on MPLS/BGP give attention to the merit of peer VPN and the security of overlay VPN, then it is provided with expansibility and flexibility. This dissertation is devoted to the researches of the theory and implementation of MPLS/BGP VPN according to the requirements of 863 Terabit router project. Emphasizing on the two keyproblems------the management of VRF in PE router and the transmission design of MPLS/BGPVPN, we propose the appropriate implementations in Terabit router project. The main work of this dissertation is as follows:1. This paper proposed an appropriate framework to implement MPLS/BGP VPN in Terabit router. Devoting to the researches of the theory of MPLS/BGP VPN based on the framework of Terabit router, we bring forward a appropriate framework to implement MPLS/BGP VPN.After analyzing the difficulty of control plane and data plane, we point outthe two key problems------the management of VRF in PE router and the transmission design ofMPLS/BGP VPN.2. This paper put forward the VRF design based on the interfaces of user site and the mechanism of RT authentication used in VRF aiming at the shortage of current VPN management. The VRF design based on the interfaces of user site settled the problem of the management of overlap VPN, which is proved rational by logic consequence. The mechanism of RT authentication used in VRF makes good use of the attribute of BGP, so as to avoid the complexity of encryption. The result of OPNET simulation indicates that the mechanism can provide simpler rule to implement the security of VPN communication.3. Combining the software with hardware, this paper designed and implemented the transmission of MPLS/BGP VPN in Terabit router. Which not only enable the Terabit router efficient, but also flexible. The implementation of VPN software is based on Zebos LDP, but the integrality of MPLS plane also gained .From the test result, it is clear that in order to ensure the security of VPN communication. The designment of MPLS hardware plane is according to the MPLS protocol, and the function is divided into the line card interface module and the forwarding processing module. At present, this designment has been implemented in Terabit router and the throughput is 10 Gbps.
