Television Documentary Program Development Trend Of Research

The televised documentary programme has an important place in the development of China' s television land. The documentaries and the newsreels were the two significant types of programme when the cause of China' s television came into forming. During that time, the wave of the documentary expression, represented by the documentary programmes, surged in all fields. Till now, the documentary is still considered rather crucial to measure the comprehensive level of an television station. In recent years, the news programmes develop rapidly, occupying the main place while the documentary programmes fall to the secondary place, some programmes even in the danger of peripherization. In the last two years, the phenomenon worth close attentions is that the variety shows are slumping into a low ebb while the more and more documentaries flourish in the televion land. Be that as it may, still cannot we say that the televised documentary programmes are stepping out of the ebb, because the viewing rates remain relatively low and the surviving conditions are not optimistic.This thesis analyses the characteristics, cultural patterns, the categories and the existing problems of the televised documentary programmes, with methods of generalizing the history, clarifying and textual analysis. Also, by presenting the development process of the televised documentaries and the televised documentary programmes, this thesis tries to get a clear understanding of the televised documentary programmes and to explore their developing trend, as well as its developing roads.
