The 21st century will be a communicated society.Video information is favored with people because of its visual and convenience.Video monitoring system is a part of security system.In the near future,with the fast development of computer and network,video monitoring technology also develop very quickly.There are mainly two kind of products in the matket,analog video monitoring and digital video monitoring.Having been applied abroadly especially in large video monitoring project,Analog video monitoring technology has been very mature.The digital video monitoring technology is a new video monitoring system,its base is computer and video coding.The system based digital technology solved the defects in the analog video monitoring system.But it need development and perfect all the same.The digital information,especially digital video data,have large amount of datas,which let transmitting and storaging datas to be difficulty.But it is unpractical if we only increase storage capability and channel transmitting speed.For example,if you transmit video data of the high definition television that not disposed,the data will be 1G bit,which obviously go beyond the ability of the channel transmitting.At the same time,sending video data that not disposal to communication channel wasting communication channel largely.Then,it is significant to research and develop a new video code method.To solve this problem,this paper recommends a distributing network video monitoring system based on h.264/AVC.This paper introduces video monitoring technology firstly,then recommend a video monitoring system.Finally we place emphasis on the subsystem of video collection.We analyses the characteristic and performance of h.264,and contrasted with other code standards.In the end,we simulate and test the system,and educe conclusion.
