In the engineering field, there exists a great deal of vibration, and at most occasions the vibration is harmful. It works on normal work of the plant, and when the vibration is severe it will lead to plant failure, even casualties etc.The condition monitoring of Rotating machinery can reduce the cost of devices maintenance, keep the security of manufacture and increase the use of devices. The portable data collector and signal analyzer based on embedded system is an important part of the condition monitoring of Rotating machinery. The focus of the thesis is the hardware design of the portable data collector and signal analyzer. Unlike the large rotary machine online system, portable itinerant checking equipment is mainly used on the occasions when it is unsuitable to install online system. The portable itinerant checking equipment can realize the multi- channel collecting and saving of vibration signal and the function of processing simple signal. Its applied range become more and more extensive because of its practical and simple character. For the moment most foreign portable equipments are costly, and domestic portable equipments have at large the shortcoming of small memory capacity and slow response speed and bad human machine interface etc. The thesis narrates the development trend of the portable data collector and signal analyzer. According to the new requirement of the modern condition monitoring of Rotating machinery i it brings forward a new function design and chooses a ARM-based software and hardware platform.Embedded system focuses on application and bases on computer technology, and its both software and hardware can be cut out freely. Embedded system is the professional computer system which can meet on various demand of system, for example function, reliability, cost, volume and power waste. Embedded real time operation system (RTOS) is used in this thesis.For this instrument, in hardware, it bases on PAX255 ARM chip. LPC2104 ARM and AD7865, the main chip in the A/D module, LCD module, and Flash and SDRAM centering on the data and program memory module are all assembled in it. The signal pre-conditioning is also assembled. In software, we transplant the real time operation system of Linux write the driver source code of various modules and the algorithm source code of digital signal processing.By circuit emulator, it is demonstrated that the hardware circuit of the instrument isreasonable and reliable. The software emulating result basing on HYBUS255B emulator of Shenzhen Yi-dao company shows the validity of the key algorithm program and the driverprogram.
