This thesis discussed the design of portable instrument's core part and uClinux OS used in the instrument. From the angle of OS, research the hardware structure, uClinux porting, instrument system's running mechanism, device driver and net function, etc. The portable instrument system , from which hardware to software and device driver to application, has been researched in detail.The first is designing hardware , based on embedded system's requirement, from circuit designing to register configuration and devices test. Introduce the kernel board's design detailedly, hardware's debugging, notice, and interrelated registers.Then, the thesis has analyzed instrument system's porting process, including bootloader's order and system setup process. Joining the kernel source, analyze instrument and function module's running mechanism. On software, interrupt programme is emphasis. Design interrupt in instrument, use interrupt, and write interrupt server module in device driver. Realize the instrument system software which includes interrupt.Based on theory and method, the design of a color purity measuring has tidied up all designing processes of embedded portable instrument. At the end of the thesis, there were some debugging methods and conclusion.The thesis has expatiated on a whole instrument system's design and development process, and analyzed system's setup and other resource. It is typical method of developing portable instrument. And it has some instructing value. On the function of instrument system and method of designing, this thesis has provided a universal way.
