The shared character of current Management Information Systems is the constant increasing complexity, multiformity and mutual relevancy. The traditional Functional-Oriented method of development is no longer fit in with the complexity and inconstant requirements, and the result of analysis and design cannot be reused effectively. The Object-Oriented modeling technique is flexible, less risky, reusable and can reduce the risk of development because it makes the complexity and changeability under control. Therefore Object-Oriented technique can improve the efficiency of software development. Unified Modeling Language is a standard language for specifying, visualizing, constructing and documenting the artifacts of Object-Oriented software systems. So the transformation from Function-Oriented methods to Object-Oriented methods is inevitable for Management Information Systems. The Management Information System of ** Garment Corporation is a system adopting Function-Oriented methods. With the changes of situation, such as development of Information Technology, innovation of Management Theory and intensification of competition, the modification to management information is imperative under this situation. Under such a condition, this thesis reanalyzes the contract module of the Garment Corporation MIS which adopts Object-Oriented method. The mutual characteristics for foreign trading companies are as follows: all of their business is based on contract (or order); contract is the core of the entire business and productive activity. With the expansion of business, various contracts will be coming out, so the entire business management system has to be adjusted in accordance with the change of contract format, however, the newly formed 5 types of contract are derived from 5 kinds of primary contract, they have high relevancy. Therefore Object-Oriented method that based on UML is adopted in the analysis and design to the contract module of the Garment Corporation MIS. C/S/S(CLIENT/APPLICATIONSERVER/DATABASE SERVER)-3-tier structure is utilized in the system design, whichreduces the burden of client and makes it easier to be expanded both in vertical and horizontal directions, allocation of program is also settled. This thesis reanalyzes the contract module of the Garment Corporation MIS which adopts Object-Oriented method that based on UML, optimizes design by designing pattern and put forward a kind of designing method of contract module that with better extensibility. This method can be used in the Garment Corporation MIS and it is also applicable to the bill of document module of other MIS for foreign trade corporation...
