With the development of the Internet, Internet-based B2B E-Business has developed rapidly which has embodied the great value. Most E-Business applications and Web-based commercial services are working in different ways. How to combine these applications with low costs and convenience as well as implement the inter-enterprise commercial applications connection is a big problem.With the appearance of Web Service,we have found a solution to this problem. Web Service, based on protocols HTTP, XML, SOAP and WSDL.is irrelated to programme language.platforms and equipments, and thus provides a good solution to the integration of distributed and heterogeneous platforms.Utilizing Web Service, corporations can cooperate with each other and make use of all resources to maxima] extent which will definitely promote the E-Business.Web Service retrieval is the first step to utilize Web Services. Currently.the existing discovery and matchmaking policy of Web Service based on key word in UDDI without enough semantic information has low precision and lacks inference capability.How to discover the exact Web Service has been the bottleneck to the wide application of Web Service.In this paper we have put forward a Ontology and Description Logic based Web Service discovery and matchmaking algorithm.First, we propose an enhanced Web Service semantic description model. The current web service description mainly focus on the Web Service material information, ignoring the performance and semantic information of Web Service. The proposed model is based on domain ontology,and enriched with not only the basic information of Web Service, but also the behavioral constraints, conditions and QoS of Web Service, providing comprehensive information of Web Service to meetthe practical needs closely.Second,we propose the concept of Service Community.Currently,the discovery of Web Service is to search tagert Service in whole UDDI,which definitely produce some unnecessary compare,leading to low efficiency and high cost.Based on the enhanced Web Service semantic description model,UDDI is divided into different Service Communities in accordance with the Service Category key word. Service Community improves the discovery efficiency and reduce the discovery cost.Third, we propose a two steps querying integrated with the advantages of keywordbased and semanticbased service matchmaking.In the frist step, a keyword_based matchmaking is proposed to find the corresponding Service Community in accordance with the request category keyword,which reduces the amount of candidate Web Services.In the second step, we propose the idea of Web Service weak matchmaking.Based on the proposed enhanced Web Service semantic description model and the theory of Service Community,we resort to the effective subsumption inference capability between two concenpts of Description Logic and construct a subsumption tree for Services in the frisrt step result community,and then put forward a Web Service weak matchmaking algorithm which improves Service matchmaking precision and recall thus has been proved a better solution to Web Service discovery and matchmaking.Finally,based on the theories above, we propose the Web Service Matchmaking System which is the extention of the current Web Service discovery system, and a brief introduction about parts of it is mentioned.
