Firstly, this paper discusses the transmitting attenuation property of non-atmosphere window millimeter wave. Based on the features such as high guidance precision and better anti-jamming ability, non-atmosphere millimeter wave technology can be used widely in the communication between artificial satellites and in the millimeter wave short-range radar. The atmosphere attenuation don't affect the natural work of millimeter wave short-range radar..Secondly, this paper expatiates the theory about FMCW short-range radar, including the calculation of its detecting range and how to choose its parameters. After the analysis of theoretic, the next part of this paper is the design of each component of the 5.5mm FMCW distance measure system.At last, three group data of the real system are collected, and they are compared and analyzed in the paper. It is proved that the system is practicable.
