Henan Mineral Database Management System

This paper puts forward the method about how to establish the database for users of non-computer major and without specifying the database platform, and sets up the database standard and flow diagram as well as the control measures of data quality. Taking these as the bases, overall data pool and its management system of mineral lands have been completed in Henan Province. The database of mineral lands in Henan provides the foundational data for the protection and reasonable exploitation of the mineral resources and for government's macro program and decision-making, and offers the information service for the public, through which people can conveniently and systematically know mineral resources in Henan, can further do the potential evaluation and estimation of mineral resources very well, and deploy the strategic exploration for mineral resources. It is an important task for carrying out the geological results data share to establish the database. This is a significant and basic work and also a great achievement for realizing information-handling automation of mineral resources in Henan. This paper is totally divided into seven parts. Chapter 1:The database project source, former work schedule ,original data collecting, and standards of establishing the database are introduced; Chapter 2: The basic theories and techniques for the database system design, including the development of the database application system structure and process, and the needs and techniques development trends of the contemporary calculator data management etc, are also introduced ; Chapter 3:The system and logic designs of the database have been completed, and further the correlations between the normal database mode and the data entity are described ; Chapter 4:The design of data forms of the database has been made by defining the name, code, type and length of each datum item strictly; Chapter 5:Adopting a great deal of chart is to insure the accurateness of each data item during the process of its arrangement and in the flow diagram, and the logical consistency of data is checked with artificial and the assistance software; Chapter 6 :The process, characters, menu of the database management system are explained through two practical examples ; Chapter 7: The conclusion , which expounds the feature and function of the mineral lands database in Henan.
