Since the 1990's, there has been extensive research in the area of highperformance network architecture among the network community. However, theresearch commonly depends on the conventional hierarchical networking architecture.Although the networking performance could be further improved, the problemsconcerned with the inherent limitations of the hierarchical architecture are stilldifficult to be resolved. To overcome such limitations and improve poor networkservice efficiency, which is mainly due to the redundant function overlaps betweenneighbouring layers and complicated hierarchical processes existing in theconventional hierarchical network, by analysing and classifying network services, anovel network architecture called the service unit based network architecture (SUNA)were presented..This project is realized on the model of packet , after analyzing the demands of networkperformance, we decide to form the Micro Communication Element System(MCES) basedvirtual circuit to overcome the quality of service. We take the virtual circuit scheme because thenetwork architecture based packet switching can not overcome the quality of service .The virtualcircuit scheme will finish the low efficiency of network and the bad quality of service. So after weaccomplish the model of packet, we begin to design and realize the model of virtual circuit. This dissertation mainly show the plan of the MCES based virtual circuit on thePC platform and linux OS, and the test of its performance. we point the maincharacteristic of MCES based virtual circuit, tell how to establish ,transmit, maintenance and remove the virtual circual, analyze how the virtual circuit is formedbetween the host and the router .
