The development of computer networks had brought great impact on the traditional audio transmitting network. Because the traditional audio transmitting network has shortcomings such as hard to be managed, complicated fabric, hard to realize auto-switching, the digital networks will be the future of the audio networks with no doubt. As Ethernet is the most popular technology in LAN, it has the strong-points of digital networks as well as its high performance-price proportion and mature technical standard what makes it the ideal carrier of audio data.What must be considered is the real time properties of audio data. And the clock synchronization is also a problem should be solved otherwise unexpected chaos will destroy the scheduling logic.According to the requirements of audio transmitting network, the real time scheduling, clock synchronization and system design were discussed based on traditional Ethernet. The protocol design was discussed, and a solution of audio transmitting network based on Ethernet was presented.The content of this thesis is listed as follows:1. Discussed the shortcomings of traditional audio transmitting networks, made an overview of the existing digital audio transmitting networks, their strong-points and shortcomings were compared. Made a overview of the Ethernet history, its characteristics were presented.2. Discussed the problem should be solved to transmitting audio data on Ethernet. Studied the real-time scheduling algorithms, presented a scheduling algorithm base on Utility Function. Studied clock synchronization algorithm, an algorithm called N-Message algorithm was introduced.3. Specified the format of the packet used by the protocol, the protocol model waspresented.4. Designed the protocol packet dispatch circuit, the software framework combined with TCP/IP protocols were discussed. A network management software was designed based on the protocol framework...
