J2ee-based Workflow Technology

Workflow management is a technology widely used in enterprise business process management and developed very fast. It is the technology to automate or semi-automate the business process. As the fast e-business development in Internet, traditional workflow management system cannot meet the requirement of modern business process management any more. It doesn't provide enough support to dynamic and" inter-organization business because lacking agility and interoperability.Web services are one of the latest technologies used to improve WFMS's performance. Web services based on the service-oriented architecture framework provide a suitable technical foundation for making business processes accessible within enterprise and across enterprise. Publish and discover Web services through standard message will add dynamic and interoperational features to WFMS.In this paper, first introduce workflow and web services, then analyze the shortcomings of the traditional WFMS. And use web services to improve the model of workflow and make it suitable for the cross-organization business process. Base on this model we gave out the Web Services based Asynchronous Workflow System. The interfaces of WSAWFS are also described in this paper, and at last we use an example of Bus Corporation of. Tianjin to describe how WSAWFS work.
