Fieldbus is the trend of automatic control. High Speed Ethernet (HSE) released by Fieldbus Foundation provides specifications for a cost-effective, high-speed, plant-wide network for process control using commercial off the shelf (COTS) Ethernet hardware and software. HSE fuction block application (FBAP) is one of the most important parts for the HSE to be an advanced and interoperable fieldbus.In this thesis, the HSE FBAP is selected as the study object. Combining the whole HSE project, the thesis deeply studied the architecture, component modules, access services, alert process and control arithmetic of the HSE FBAP. Implementation of the HSE FBAP is useful to the development of the national control technology.Architecture of HSE protocol and structure of each module is introduced firstly. Then based on introducing the FBAP's architecture, the thesis analyzes the function of each component module of the FBAP one by one, and describes the process of the parameters' read and write services of FBAP. In succession, the thesis introduces the FBAP's main parameters with emphasis on the parameter status and working mode and their relationship. And then the thesis gives a detailed analysis on the FBAP's alert process through introducing the parameters associated with the alert. After that this thesis uses the AI, PID, AO function blocks as examples, brings forward the mechanism and the implement of the arithmetic of the function block. At last, this thesis gives a way to test the FBAP and summarizes the whole work and prospects the later work.
