As there are a lot of limits in WAP 1.x, WAP2.0 brings the wireless world closer to the Internet with a suite of specification that utilizes technologies which will enhance the bandwidth, speed of processing data, processing ability, screen size, and the user can get colorful mobile Internet services. At the same time, WAP2.0 can satisfy much aspect request of application. So WAP2.0 has large market, and the mobile communications can get new profits. With great honor, the author took part in the project and took charge of one module, the WAP2.0 Push Proxy Gateway. As WAP Push Gateway is an important component of the WAP application, we proposed a general solution and an implement solution to develop it. The hardware and software environment of the gateway was determined. The way of gateway development was discussed and a modular programming way was designed in the implement solution. The thoughtway of the software was given in this thesis. At the same time, focusing on how to implement the gateway with high efficiency and high reliability, the thesis expounds the feathers of the WAP Gateway software system and the key technical points of implementing the gateway. The main work and achievements of the paper include: Introduction to the architecture of WAP2.0 Push gateway through analysis of WAP2.0 Push protocol and WAP application module. Design and realization of system structure and communication interface of WAP2.0 Push gateway management system. Design and realization of the distributed sub-module of WAP2.0 Push gateway and communication mechanism between them. Design and realization of concurrent service in the WAP2.0 Push application layer through analysis of thread-pool and I/O multiple strategies.
