Peer to Peer Network directs the network computing from centralized model to distributed model, in other words, the kernel of network application is distributed to the terminal equipment from the central server: from server to server, from server toPC, from PC to PC......All the nodes can set up Peer to Peer communication. Thismakes the behavior of sharing be developed to a higher level, makes people join in the network more actively.Workflow manage system is used to describe, construct, execute, monitor and collaborate structured or half-structured work flows. It harmonizes communication, comprehension and synchronization between different organizations and operations. With the development of computer and network since 1990s, modern enterprise information system becomes more and more distributed and self-ruled. Correlative enterprise resource exists in more distributed circumstance, the link between informations becomes looser. According to this, the distributed workflow becomes a research focus. Under this circumstance, the author of this paper designs a P2P-based Distributed Workflow Platform, for short PDWP.This paper discusses the design and implementation of PDWP. It concludes five chapters. Chapter one is why this paper should be written and the content and organization of the whole paper. Chapter two introduces three existing distributed workflow platforms and analyses the different information exchange technologies, then JXTA, a successful platform in P2P area, is introduced. Chapter three compares several P2P models, then designs the network and system architectures of PDWP, the design of functional modules of workflow is also showed. Chapter four introduces the implementation of PDWP, mainly including the P2P network based on JXTA and the middle communication interface based on message mechanism. Chapter five, namely the last chapter, summarizes the whole paper and prospects the future study.
