Testing On The Gsm Short Message Business Systems Automation Functions

Testing can ensure the software running normally. Good testing methods acquired the high portability to reveal software flaws, meanwhile that should ensure the economically and effectively designed test case, with the overhead of running test case as small as possible. We describe three main test methods, which are black-box test, white-box test, gray-box test. The test case designing of black-box test is depicted in detail. The advantage of automatic testing lies in greatly shortening of the testing overhead, with the count of test case executed in limited time increasing prominently. The automatic testing has very high efficiency in software testing. We can automatically run some tests which are manually executed difficultly, even impossible to be executed. And automatic testing makes it consistent and repeated, which helps to reuse test cases and increase the reliability of software system. The types of commonly used testing tools and their characteristics are introduced.The short message service model is based on GSM short message, using SMPP model to implement the running of short message service. SMPP defines the transportation between short message service system and uses, and it is an interface of short message data communication. The short message services supported by SP have some problem of quality of service. The automatic third-party testing is an effective way of SMS software system quality verification.Chapter three introduces the methods for automatic testing of SMS system. There are four types in SMS services. Six testing target are included in them when the testing in progress. The scripts describe testing methods, and it is the base element of testing. We can verify whether the service is running normally by running the scripts and comparing the test result. The script technique adopted and the testing progress according to test targets are introduced.The construction of SMS service test system based on GSM short message is presented in the last part of the article. The system includes testing scripts generator, test task definition module, test task scheduler, test task running platform, accounting and report form module. Testing system automatically tests the SMS services by theprogress that are scripts definition, test task definition, and running scripts to transmit and receive short messages. It acquires a good effect in practical deployment. And the implementations of some modules are specifically introduced.
