OSPF(Open Shortest Path First)is a dynamic routing protocol put forward by IETF(internet engineering task force)in 1988,which is based on Link State Arithmetic and used as an IGP(Interior Gateway Protocol) routing protocol for IPv4 network。With the development and employment of IPv6 protocol,OSPFv3 comes forth to support the IPv6 network。It is a new version of dynamic routing protocol,which is root in OSPF。Although the basic mechanism is same to OSPF,such as flooding,DR election,area support,and so on。It appears some new characters to support the special requirement of the IPv6 protocol。The subject does some research on the Link-State Database Overflow of OSPFv3 routing protocol。At first,it introduces some basic conception of OSPFv3,and then explains some knowledge about the Link-State DataBase of it。Secondly,it introduces the problem of Database Overflow of Link-State DataBase resulting from the extend of the size of LSDB because the scale of network expands endlessly ,and brings forward the method to resolve the problem .It implements the method with program on the LINUX system .At last ,it implements the module to manage the Database Overflow of Link State DataBase with SNMPv3 protocol and SMUX protocol,and analyses the result of the experiment.
