With the development of science, the war has changed so much. There are alwaysmany kinds of units cooperate each other instead of one kind in the battlefield, whichmakes it hard to distinguish friend or foe in the battlefield. What's more, modernweapons are becoming more and more powerful and their effective distances arebecoming longer, which makes the price for accidentally injure higher than before.Identifying the object in the battlefield is a very important thing in modern wars. SoIFF(Identification of Friend or Foe) system is a key to win the war, and without aneffective and reliable IFF system, modern weapons can't work properly.The traditional IFF system is mostly based on wireless and microwave.Comparing with the wireless and microwave, Laser has a higher performance inanti-jamming and directivity. With these virtues, Laser is attracting more and moreattention in the field of IFF. Optical electronic technology has gained a great deal ofdevelopment in recent years, which makes the laser IFF system possible.This article mainly discusses the interrogator unit of Cooperative Laser IFFsystem. Including laser transmitter,laser receiver,controlling,encoding,and decodingsystem. Besides, it also discusses the encryption and key techniques in response unit,which relate to interrogator unit very much. This article comes up with a feasibleproject to realize the laser IFF system, and it has been proved by experiment.The article discusses the design of collimation system which can adjust the angle of divergence according to the distance of object. The focusing system can help laser cover the object in an efficient way. Detailed works are as follows:Designed and realized echo encoding and decoding method.Designed the method to encrypt the data that is transferred during identificationprocess. This method can almost use different ways to encrypt data in everyidentification processes, which can stop enemy from copying the information todisturb identification process. This method has been realized in MCU51 system.Realized the controlling system with MCU51 and C language。Realized the encoding and decoding system with VHDL and CPLD...
