Wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Network (WMANET) is the aggregation of hardwareand software including wireless transmitter-receivers and computers based on thewireless packets network. Because of the limit transmission capability of wirelessnodes, packets need to be relayed by intermediate nodes. That is to say, nodes inWMANET must act the roles of host and router at the same time. So it is veryimportant for us to focus on the research of routing protocol. The main aim ofadopting the WMANET routing protocol is to get a rapid, exact, effectual andexpandable performance because of its abundant uses in military wirelesscommunication and other conditions in emergency.WMANET is made up of many wireless routers and can be easily deployedwithout the help of any existing network infrastructure. So it makes mobile usersmore convenient to access. This dissertation analyzes systematically the frameworkof the WMANET, one of the most important parts of communication protocol system.Firstly, this paper introduced the main parts and principles of WMANET briefly. Then the topic is network structure, including channel configuration, networkprotocol, followed by the detailed analysis of the related protocols and algorithmswith simulation model, with the emphasis on routing protocols and channel protocol. The 3rd part of the article focuses on the descriptions of the whole structure of thesimulation models and their functions respectively. After analyzing and comparingdifferent kinds of routing protocols of Ad Hoc Network in simulation, a amelioratingOLSR routing protocol is accepted in my model and gets a better performance thanother protocols in network layer referred in this part. The simulation tool adopted in this paper is OPNET . With the detailed analysisto different simulation models built with this tool, we prove the validity of OLSRrouting protocol. The referenced algorithm, models and data are helpful to thedesigning of real systems.
