The technology for tracing & detecting moving objects is one of the most important branches in the image processing field. It is required to process huge image data and obtain the useful information from which imediately.Hence, the implementation of the tracing & detecting moving objects depends on the high speed DSP technology, effective DSP algorithm, huge data storing technology and the unblocked data transmission path. The infared moving objects tracing and defecting system is based on the high performace DSP and PC. In this system, DSP board completes the run-time processing for input video data, then the useful information will be sent to the PC with Windows2000 OS.At last, the application program in the PC implement the system control and the ending data processing. What between the DSP Board and the Host PC, is the PCI bus and the related PCI driver. In the dissatation, the author introduces the function requirements and the detaled design for the system firstly, then the author analyses the data transmission in the system and the hardware and protocol base for PCI bus, which is the interface between the DSP Board and the host PC. After that, the major functions and the related design for WDM driver has been discussed. At last, the author introduces the installation and the testing for the driver, and the more possible extension for the system.
