Research On Detecting And Tracing Of Moving Objects

With the development of video equipment and image processing technology, the video surveillance system has more advantages than the conventional sensor equipment. It’s widely used in many fields as an efficient method, such as military, customs, public security, fire protection, forest protection, dams, and public transport. Recently years, motion detection technique has been put into home applications, for protection or even entertainment. The moving objects detecting and tracing technology is one of the key technologies.The principle and development of moving objects detection technologies are introduced. OpenCV is chosen to be the develop platform. Its characteristics and its functions are described in detail.Image preprocessing is the basis of image processing. It can efficiently decrease or eliminated the noise to improve the image quality and enhance the vision effect. The image smoothing, image pyramid, lighting compensation, grey scale gradation, and dualistic value methods are analyzed.Based on the comparison of several object detection algorithms, the background subtracting method is selected. With the creation of Codebook dynamic background model, the motion object can be detected efficiently.At last, a valid and efficient object tracing algorithm based on motion template technology is proposed.
