With the rapid development of computer technology, the application field of modern database is expanding wider and wider. The new demand for higher database technology also rises, especially when the application demand in real-time field can not be met by the conventional database technology. Since late 80's, the price of semiconductor continuously dropped and the memory's capacity increased, which result in the occurrence of main memory database. By letting the main operating part of the database reside constantly in the main memory, and utilizing the quick access speed, the system performance is greatly enhanced. However meanwhile, new design problem of database itself has occurred. The algorithm and data structure of database must be re-designed so that CPU and memory space can be used more efficiently.Due to the sharp leap of the user's number, Order dishes system can not meet the real-time performance demand caused by plenty of user access, in which the problem of access bottleneck seems extremely outstanding as an obstacle hard to overcome. The thesis brings forward one new method to improve the performance of Order and the charge system against high requirement in real-time quality, which means the utilization of main memory database versus requirement of real-time performance. The system will set up a high-speed buffer zone for the data coming from conventional disk database and perform management of the data with assistance of main memory database. Thus the I/O times between memory and disk can be decreased and a main memory database management system is formed.First in the paper, the rise and development of main memory database are introduced. Then the conception of main memory database is brought...
