This essay mainly introduces the basic theory of the real-time rendering, how to resolve the visibility processing, the algorithm of light model and shadow in the real-time rendering, which are applied in virtual transformer substation system according to the comparison and factual analysis in the end.At first, it analyses the visibility processing of complex scene, including: spatial partition technology BSP, quadtree, octree and equational octree which can optimize scene, category of quick visibility estimation algorithm in the 3D scene, portal which can accelerate rendering, level of detail and mesh simplification based on quadric error metrics used to simply models in 3D scene. In the chapter light model, it mainly describes some classic algorithms of simple light model and light transmission model, and then discusses light map model and something correlative, which includes theory and algorithms of texture, 2D light map, and 3D light map.In the chapter 4, it introduces the generative theory of shadow, basic shadow arithmetic: buffer shadows arithmetic, shadow polygon arithmetic, plane shadow arithmetic, and volume shadow arithmetic: shadow volume polyhedron arithmetic and volumetric shadow arithmetic. In the last chapter, the arithmetics which have been referred in other chapters, it is applied to virtual transformer substation system. Then it introduces the characteristic, architecture and the system function of the virtual transformer substation system. In order to realize the real-time visualization of complex transformer station scene, we adopt the visibility processing arithmetic of complex scene: spatial partition BSP tree, portal, model simplification based on quadric surface arithmetic, illumination effect adopts light map, shadow effect adopts plane shadow arithmetic, at the same time, improves this two arithmetics allusion to their own disadvantage.
