A rapidly growing number of applications need to be able to access and manipulate data from multiple databases. To facilitate the development of these new database applications, different kinds of data integration works have been proposed and implemented. The flat made databases transparent to each other and has supplied common interface to access the databases. However, the autonomy and heterogeneity of the component databases are the bottle-neck of the data sharing. At present, federate database and the data warehouse is comparatively success among all kinds of data integration works, however, both of them orientate to subject. They can't be taken into general use. So we completed the data integration project by the more flexible middleware. We have proposed a middleware system named MiddleCase. It aims to uniformly, transparently, efficiently access and manipulate the data sources. The flat is based on Web Services technology. It supplies query designer and efficient query processing. Meanwhile it solved many problems which might meet in data integration. The layout of the dissertation is as follows: In chapter 2, it writes out the functionality of the data integration and middleware. It comes up the function and features of an eligible data integration work. In chapter 3, it chiefly introduces technologies which might be used and problem which might meet in our project. The chapter 4 gives out the detailed description of MiddleCase, from the main module to sub-module. And it brings forward the key problems' resolvent. In chapter 5, it tells the practicality of MiddleCase in a set of report designer. In the end of this article, it gives out the summarization of Middlecase and puts forward the future direction of the system.
