Research Of Heterogeneous Data Sources Integration System Prototype Based On SOAP

With the development of network and rapid increasing of information on the Internet, the Web has become a huge information depository that is composed of millions of heterogeneous data sources including the traditional database, the file system and semistructured data such as HTML, XML. It is necessary to build a data integration system to share the entire Heterogeneous information source. The heterogeneous data integration system supporting the heterogeneous data sources on the Web provides a unified retrieval technique and query interface. The key to realize the organized integration of various data sources is how to specify all kinds of data by a unique data schema and mask the heterogeneity of their platforms and data structure, etc.There are some shortage in existing data integration systems: Complex conversion of any data schema to the common schema; Little integration about semistructured data ; Lackness of interoperability in bottom level communication mechanism based on software component. A HDSISBS (Heterogeneous Data Sources Integration System Based on SOAP) prototype is put forward to overcome above difficulties. It is shown that HDSISBS simplifies the conversion of various data schema to the data schema in integration layer and provides the PnP (Plug and Play) feature of data source.Our thesis is organized as follows. First, XML data model is adopted as thecommon data model based on the theories of data model, distributed database and heterogeneous database integration, and also the features of XML; Second, combining with the software reuse, the SOAP is adopted as the communication mechanism of object component through the analysis of the technique features of the SOAP and the comparison of the existing distributed component techniques including COM, CORBA, SOAP etc.; Finally, we give the architecture, the work flow, and the implementing strategy of the HDSISBS and realize some key techniques.
