In a long time, most ERP systems adopts static solutions which hardly keep up with enterprise's reengineering and evolution and possessed with disadvantages such as high cost of development , implementation and maintenance ,etc. In this article, based on the experiences and lessons from developing the CD-ERP system of Jiangsu Changdian Science and Technology Co. Ltd. ,combined with current conditions of ERP software system, latest advancement in modern software technique and characteristics of ERP software application field, the author made a pilot research and implementation for a flexible and re-engineering software system, which is an upgrade from the primary ERP system. In the paper, first, based on the analysis of a software architecture that is applied successfully, consult their successful experience, the author build a four-tier ERP software architecture that meet current application need. Secondly we give the definition of the component, at the same time, it relates the component techniques: the development, concept, structure and realization of Component Object Model (COM). Then, we establish the function model of inventory information management system, design the components based on function module and the interface of components. The paper, according to the instance that is developed, recommends the key techniques of PowerDesigner-DataArchitector, which is a Sybase's database design tool and is used in the development of the ERP engineering project. Also it recommends the techniques, such as procedure, function and trigger of Oracle. Finally we implement the components and integrate them by ASP.
