Based On The H.264 Video Software Encoder

This paper first introduces the theory of video coding, then analyses and compared simply with the video coding standards which were established by international in past years. This paper especially analyses H.264 standard established in May last year. Based on understanding H.264 standard, this paper researches its key arithmetic, such as: the transform and quantization of residual blocks , the technology of motion estimationFinally, this paper introduces the design and realization of H.264 key arithmetic software coder in detail. The efficient arithmetic which above-mentioned are adopted in this coder, moreover, this coder can accord with H.323 protocol in coding course. Through comparison of the performance of H.263 coder with that of H.264 coder by experiment, the latter improves several performances such as : the coding speed, compaction ratio and signal noise ratio.
