The traditional inspecting and measurement method for glass pipe geometry dimension mainly is using micrometer to measure manually, having defects as long measurement period and low accuracy and influenced by subject factories, so it is difficult to meet demand of a series-production and on-line real time measurement control. So it is put forward in the paper according to the structure of glass pipe production line, a on-line measurement method based on line array CCD sensor, and technology summary of the measurement system development process and emulational calculation for this method are given.Firstly, principle and structure of CCD are introduced, and then based on structure of production line, the set measurement system is designed are compositions of each part of the measurement system are described in detail; secondly, design thoughtfulness and principle of each measurement unit are introduced, and their affects on the result of measurement analysed in detail, and specific algorithms for measure geometry dimension put forward; lastly, mainly the put forward dimension inspecting and measurement method is emulationally calculated and calculation result of fact measurement analysed.
