Semantic Web - Knowledge Representation Language And Its Application

Semantic web is regarded as one of the developing trends of next generation of Internet, which is a hotspot under researching. Currently, semantic web research stays on an initial stage, mainly focusing on the ontology layer and lower layers, and knowledge representation and reasoning are the key issues that need to be resolved first. In China, the study in this area is started recently.Beginning with the architecture of semantic web and the approach of knowledge representation, and based on the outline of specification of W3C, the author discussed both RDF(S) and OWL in depth, the main focus is on the rational classification of semantic representation capability and the analysis of the code specification. At same time the author explicitly illustrated the predefinition of vocabulary and its usage structure by UML diagram.Based on the study conducted, the author applied two aspects into practice. Due to available limited representation capability of OWL, he defined a feasible extended solution and practice, exemplified by actual cases. A prototype of internet recruiting system based on semantic web, as an applied example, shows completely the concept extracting and ontology modeling, and the code based on OWL is listed too.The study is the fundament of enterprise application integration (EAI) and knowledge integration based on semantic web.
