Within the fiber communications field, fiber connector is one of the very important components. In order to connect the tow fibers with diameters between 10 and 100 ?m, the main problem is how to control the connection precision. The connection precision directly influences the connection loss between tow fiber connectors. In practice, the real time inspection of the fiber end-face is needed for ensuring high connection precision. Therefore it is necessary to develop special fiber connector end-face inspection equipment. This dissertation expounds several problems in the course of developing fiber connectorend-face inspection system.The fiber connector end-face inspection system in this dissertation is based on homochromatic light interference model. It makes some research from several aspects: (l)make sure about the key performance criteria of fiber connector, and analyze the important parameter which is relative to and can influence the key performance criteria in order to establish the function and technique index of the testing system; (2)choose and establish theory model, design the arithmetic of measurement and validate it with emluator; (3)rebuild the hardware of the interference microscope and do some correlation experiment.
