The paper introduces the working principle of the whole system of gold foil manipulating automaton and PLC control system. The whole system adopts modularizing design method. It is easy to debug and interchange. Layout of system structure is set up. The function of each module is designed, and the movement is analyzed. This paper presents mechanical design projects of each module.The structure of system and the function of system are given out. The scheme of the hardware and software designs of PLC control system is discussed. The system can achieve auto-control and manual-control, and be switched flexibly between the two methods. Modularization is the fundamental aspect of programming designs. Advantages of this method include convenience for debugging, simplicity for maintenance and transplantation.Automation of process of gold foil with PLC, improves production efficiency, accuracy control, systematic dependability and flexibility, also reduces the cost and labour intensity .It has practical and spread value.
