Originating from the American force, logistics has rapidly developed since World War II. As a booming new industry, it acquires more and more global concern. And its meaning is increasingly enriched by the appearance of logistics on the third and fourth party. Its development has long been attached great importance to, by the trade corporations, import & export companies, as well as the info-technology. There is no doubt, of course, that the application of info-technology in logistics is not a vogue; however, it raises the whole level of this industry, and even, to some extent, changes it drastically. The application of different info-technologies in logistics is much earlier, compared with that in traditional manufacturing and other walks of line. Among these, EDI may rank the earliest. The use of EDI promotes fast and accurate information exchange and quickens the cause of logistics' standardization.Meanwhile, information exchange alone cannot satisfy the rocketing development of logistics. To optimize the operation and get conclusions from the past or even perspectives of the future is in bad need. Set in this, the whole thesis here is going to introduce a logistics managing system, which is designed by the author. The third and fourth generations of computer programming languages have shorten the cycling time of info-system development. These systems are becoming more complicated themselves but easier for people to maintain. The system introduced here is programmed by the third generation of computer language, and is developed on the basis of Microsoft technology. The info-systems have undergone many stages, from traditional C/S to Multilayer Architecture with the latter one being realized by Microsoft's COM+ in the Distribution Calculation Environment. And just on the basis of COM+ technology, the system discussed here is a structure consisting of four layers, namely, Representation, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer and Data Storage Layer. With this design reflecting a deep understanding of multi info-system, it ensures the room of extension, and is also favorable to future maintaining and safety of Data Access. Moreover, the system has some new traits in Data Modeling. Taking Work Flow as the starting point, it generalizes crucial phases and models them respectively, and concludes itself by establishing the connecting of these models. It will be, thus, favorable to the build of Data Warehouse.Designed for various databases by multilingual support, different expressions of time and figures, the system can be used extensively in the global sphere. The development of info-technology greatly propels the other industries. Andthere will be increasing requirement of relevant industries' getting more support from these info-techs. The trend of modern logistics indicates the offer of a package of more services and total solutions. Therefore, the info-technology with regard to this should improve accordingly.
