With the development of Internet and the information system, the amount of data in system increased rapidly. But the traditional information retrieval methods such as text retrieval, data retrieval are based on keywords, whose ability on the semantic retrieval is so weak that the recall and precision of the query result are not satisfied. It is because the ontology information retrieval methods is based on knowledge and semantic that becoming the researching emphasis. This article makes a deeply research on the concepts, constructing rules, constructing methods, describing methods of ontology and compared them with each other by referring to a lot of English articles. Following, a suitable method or tool is selected for every step of the system implement process, which made the implementation process more clear than before. Finally, the system structure is designed and a prototype system, the Query System for the Faculties of Employee, is developed. In this article, the development is introduced in sequence of constructing, describing, storing ontology and retrieving the faculties of employee. The development is a process from theory to practice. It is the agent developed in Domino realized the storage of XOL (Xml-based Ontotogy Exchange Language) document in object oriented database such as Domino database by mapping XOL document to DOM(Document Object Model). The XOL document described the ontology data and structure. By setting the running time of this agent, the system has a capability to suit the expansion of ontology automatically. The implement methods of intelligent retrieval system based on ontology put forward in this article can have some guidance and reference effect on the development of similar systems.
