With the development of economy and society, as a high profermance controller, Single Chip Microcomputer (SCM), has a wide range of the application in many fields. Swimming with the tide, a dance robot control system, whose core is 80C196KC (a 16-bit high profermance SCM), is developed to correspond with the robot's structure design in the article. The system puts forward the idea of Time-sharing Handling, and adopts the serial communication technology of RS-232and I2C, and realizes the designing, storing and executing of the dance robot's actions. Considering the flexible and readabile, actions are edited in windows interface developed by the application software of VC++ on PC; moreover, action data can be transmitted between the PC and the SCM by RS-232. In order to saving the Input/Output (I/O) ports, actions are stored in AT24C16 with the I2C ports, which is electrically erasable programmable read only memory (E2PROM). Dancing is accomplished by driving the control actuators and D.C. motors. For the quantity of control actuators, the idea of time-sharing hanlding is introduced. D.C. motors are controlled by the control signal from the high-speed output (HSO) of 80c 196kc.From the point of SCM applicantion, the whole system adopts not only RS-232 serial communicaton ^ I2C serial communicaton, High Speed Output(HSO) mentioned above, but also timer interrupt, external interrupt. Timer interrupt generates control singal of control actuators and D.C. motors. External interrupt makes the dancing robot act in the correct order, when the robot comes into collision with the edge of the stage. Both of interrupt make the control system more perfected.
