As the hub of transportation, port plays an important role in the development of national economy. Large amounts of money and resources usually are used for the construction of port. A good design of port not only promotes working efficiency and increases income, but also saves construction cost.With the rapid development of shipping industry and international trade, many large.sized and specialized bulk grain terminals have been constructed in China. Firstly the article gives a brief introduction to the construction of large.sized and specialized bulk grain terminals and major roles of technological system. Otherwise, it sums up analysis of modeling methodology and appliance of simulation system, which has already existed, and then points out some defects. Then the article analyses the main characteristics of bulk grain terminals and the relationships among the bulk terminal, water carriage and land carriage, educes the main factors which decide handling capacity is the art construction, then according as this establishing a simulation model of import bulk terminal. Based on this model, a universal real time running simulation program of import bulk terminal is established. The program is applied to 1st phase project of Dayao Bay bulk terminals, Dalian Port and the result is satisfactory. Finally, the article discusses the problem in research and brings some advices in further research.Based on systems analysis, modem computer simulation technology and technological analysis of large.sized bulk terminals, the article proposes the appliance of OOA to the research of bulk handling system and raises a concept of simulation system. Through the auxiliary design of technological system by computer, the optimization of system is available.
