Based On Linux Embedded Systems Applications

With the development of the microprocessor and Internet, the applications based on the embedded system are utilizing widely. The embedded products in the age of information, for example the household appliances with information technology, have created good prospect and stimulated the development of the embedded system. Simultaneously they are challenging the technology of embedded system especially the technology of software on many aspects, including the support to the dense functions, the flexible network, the light mobile applications and the information process of the multimedia.E-mail is the most important part of the Internet. Now many kinds of embedded system devices (for example PDA, handset) are able to access the Internet and receive emails. Especially the Pocket PC based on Win CE, one product of Compaq, has provided the integrated solution of E-mail. Embedded Linux is famous for the special characteristics of open and network. Without question it will become the mainstream of the OS. It is welcome to develop the applications of network based on the embedded Linux.At first, the thesis make a brief introduction of E-mail client software based on Linux, and describes the some difficulties in the design of this system. Through analysing of E-mail client software used in PC or PDA, and combining the feature of embeled software 's desigment, the thesis implement E-mail client software atapting to embeled device.the development of this software is based on UML.
