Abstract This paper stems from "863" project and National natural science fund. Based on the theory of industrial design and fuzzy set, using Object-Oriented technology and semantic grammar technology, a semantic transformation method for product color design is proposed. It includes 3D semantic space and constraining based problem-solving method. The 3D semantic space is built to represent the relationship between the describing semantic word and product color. Then, the product color schemes with related abstract sense words is achieved and saved in database. Therefore in the process of color design, when input the abstract words for describing the product color in CAD environment, reference color scheme for the product color design will be acquired. Based on these typical schemes acquired, the color design process will work more effectively.The paper abstract color design schemes and define these as class of software, and color design scheme base is founded on it. Based on color design scheme base, color design method is provided. This method has been tested in the color design software for the product of machine tools. The testing result of this system showed that the method of system building is feasible, and can assist designer in product color design effectively. |
