Abstract/Summary:
With the rapid development and popularization of Internet/Intranet, video conference has shown increasing application prospect in engineering design, distance education and business conference. It also plays an important role in GCW(Group Cooperation Work). How to introduce multimedia video conference to GDSS(Group Decision Support System) environment to improve collaboration efficiency is one research issue of our project. This dissertation focuses on the design and development of a fully-connected multimedia video conference system based on IP network technologies. Firstly, the international standards and key techniques of video conference are analyzed, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of present products. Secondly, MPVC, an IP-based multipoint videoconference system model, is given by theories and technologies of videoconference. Finally, the thesis presents complete design scheme and technique route, and implements multipoint real-time transportation of video/audio stream. This paper also presents a conference management pattern without MCU, making control and data separate. In order to enhance the bandwidth utilization factor, a multi-channel based transfer method, unicast plus multicast, is brought forward. In the end of this dissertation, we presents implementation methods, which guarantee the continuity and synchronization of video and audio when playbacking.
