Agent technology especially Multi-Agent technology is playing a more and more important role in distributed computing technology based on network that is the mainstream computer technology nowadays. It can provide not only an effective way to solve distributed application problems but a conceptual model to study the characteristics of distributed computing system. It is praised as a significant breakthrough in software field.Interaction and cooperation are the key technologies in Multi-Agent system(MAS ). By cooperation, the performance of single Agent and the flexibility of MAScan be promoted. Completed interaction mechanism is the basis of cooperation.Interaction is important to achieve the cooperation, resolve the conflicts and realizethe information exchange among Agents.In this paper, the author first introduces the concepts, categories and general models of Agent and MAS, then put an emphasis on the existing cooperation and interaction mechanism of Agent. Based on the analysis of shortcoming and limitation in traditional Contract Net Protocol, the author provides a new cooperation strategy-Improved Contract Net Protocol, which improves the efficiency of the system and the quality of the task completed by introducing evaluated parameters and expanding the statements of tenderee and bidder. Also, a bidder-selected strategy is presented. Selecting a proper interaction way and expanding KQML can make KQML support high-level, complicated and multi-bout interaction and cooperation, and can realize the Improved Contract Net Protocol. Finally, an application instance is provided.
