To design and develop real-time multimedia long-distance education system is discussed in this paper. In this system, the server works under Linux, and the client runs in Windows. The whole system is divided into three parts, how to capture, compress, decompress, play video and audio data with software based on H.263 and G723 and how to transmit the video and audio data in network in real time according to RTF.Firstly, the method of compressing and decompressing video and audio data are discussed. According to H.263 and G723 protocols, some methods are introduced to optimize the coder and decoder, which have a good effect on the efficiency of the program and can meet the need of real-time communication. Then how to capture and play the video and audio data with software are discussed. How to synchronize the video and audio data is also emphasized, several methods are introduced to solve this problem, which have a good effect. Finally, based on the analysis of RTF, real-time transmission of video and audio data is realized with software, and a bandwidth control algorithm based on RTF is introduced. In addition, some assistant modules are discussed to enhance the performance of the whole system. |
