Automatic Fiber Placement (FP)is a new manufacture technique to produce the affordable composite materials. In FP process fiber is placed on the surfaces of the model by the press roller to form composite structure with low manufacture cost, high efficiency and good quality. FP has been widely applied in aerospace and aviation industry to produce complicated shaped components in the north America and Europe. In China, FP study just begins now.In this paper we stressed the researches on manufacture simulation for the satellite triangle conjunction of frame. Based on a 7-axis automatic fiber placement robot developed by our selves, we built up the geometric modeling, fiber placement pattern and a simulation software with following functions: mandrel shape design, fiber placement pattern production, and machine movement simulation.The paper first introduced automatic fiber placement and outlined the importance for research on the satellite triangle conjunction of frame. The detail for the geometric modeling process was described. A concept of step-by-step round angle surface for transition and its mathematic modeling was put forward first time. Different fiber placement patterns (0, 90and 45 ply) and their simulation module were designed. Asimulation system for FP------SimJoint system for satellite triangle conjunction wascomposted, which include mandrel modeling, fiber placement trace in mandrel simulation and robot's kinematics simulation. According to present results future improvement works and optimizations were discussed, which is important to the further research on this project.
