Automatization and intelligent are the general developmental inclination in instruments and meters, the intelligent corrosion monitor based on microcomputer technique has been a new direction in corrosion monitoring .The process and tendency at home and abroad in intelligent corrosion monitor are reviewed in this paper, at the same time, an coulostatic corrosion monitor under potentiostatic control has also been introduce, which widen the application of coulostatic technology.The meter (which is called PCCM2002 for short) is designed on the basis of MCS-51 single-chip microcomputer technique .The hardware is composed of single-chip microcomputer module and electrochemical module .The single-chip microcomputer module can be divided into five parts, CPU circuit, A/D and D/A circuit, peripheral memory circuit, I/O interface circuit, distributing address circuit; the electrochemical module is made up of potentiostatic circuit, galvanostatic circuit, potentiostatic-galvanostatic (P-G) conversion circuit, signal measuring circuit. The software of the meter is edited by C51 language, it is well-structured and module. All program modules have been linked into an executable files after compiled separately, then copy to EPROM. Visual Basic is a visual programmable language with the character of user-friendly interface and easily-operation. Microsoft Comm Control (MSComm for short) provided by Visual Basic can be imbedded in the programs which are designed by the user, the PC programmed in Visual Basic can easily communicate with the meter through serial communication interface.Circuit simulation by computer has been an important assistant and practicality tool. PROTEL 99 has a massive performance to design and simulate the circuit, the result based on the signal simulation of electrochemical interface circuit by PROTEL 99 proved that the circuit are proper and can accomplish the potentiostatic, galvanostatic and coulostatic measuring.In a word, meter with a quality of high accuracy, well portability, nice stability and easily operation is very suitable for in-situ, rapid and nondestructive measurement .The design of the meter is logical and the purpose desired has been obtained.
