For improving the method of monitoring the speed of motors on roads, a kind of microwave vehicle speed measurement system for speed-enforcement agencies is presented. It can detect the speed of the motor every-time and every-where. This Ka-band-CW-Dopplerradar operates at 34.5GHz, and it detects the reflected waves by moving vehicles. The frequency that reflected by the vehicles shifted in frequency by Doppler effect. Doppler frequency is calculated by spectrum estimating means in DSP chip, and then vehicles' speed can be calculated by this Doppler frequency. This article mainly includes three parts: circuits of microwave magnifier; control system's hardware design and software's flow chart; analysis of Doppler radar's digital signal processing method. Analysis of arithmetic is been done by using different power spectrum estimation on simulate Doppler signal. The kernel arithmetic is confirmed to be modified covariance through auto-regression model, because it has the best effect. Finally, it achieves acceptable result in experiment. Through all these method mentioned beyond we get a small-sized light-weighty portable radar device, it also produces reliable besides precisely results.
