With the development of silicon technology, the electronics industry has entered the era of multimillion-gate chips. This technology promises new levels of system integration onto a single chip, meanwhile presents significant challenges to the chip designer. The chips which were designed on the basis of the SOC methodology have taken the lead in the IC industry.21th century has seen the momentous development of information technology and the significant changes in our everyday lives with the application of the Internet. The rapid growth of IT industry has heightened demand for the encryption hardware that can handle high data rates to provide security services for both the country interest and every people.This paper is focus on not only the research of widely used encryption algorithms, such as DES. Triple DES. MD4, MD5, but also the high speed hardware implementation of these algorithms based on the SOC methodology, which involves the work of analysis, optimization, RTL coding and synthesis of these algorithms.The research had shown some exciting results. The implementation of these algorithms not only gained high speed, such as the DBS IPCORE can run at the speed of 6.4Gbit/s, but also these IPCORES showed the capability of reuse for IC design and fully complied with the SOC design methodology.
