Web-based Cad System And Its Key Technologies Research

As an important part of advanced manufacturing technology, CAD/CAM technology has incalculable application values and great market potentials in modern manufacturing industry. The rapidly developing network technology provides important opportunities for the development of CAD/CAM technology. It is one of the important developing directions of CAD/CAM technology to integrate CAD/CAM technology with network technology and construct a web-based product design and manufacturing platform to support trans-regional and platform-independent global manufacture.This paper explores the web-based CAD/CAM technology, discusses several key technologies including the architecture, function assignment, graphics display, data communication, geometric modeling, model management of web-based CAD/CAM system. Based on above research work, WebSuperMan, a prototype of web-based CAD/CAM system is designed and realized, which accumulates rich experiences for the future work.
