Web-based CAD System, Key Technology Research And Implementation

The network technology,especially Web-relevant technology has developed rapidly since the end of the 20th century,all trades and professions benefit from it.The globalization in manufacture that the economic globalization brings, depends on the networked product design and manufacturing to a great extent. It is one of the important developing directions of manufacture in the future to fully utilize the network technology,especially Internet technology, and to construct a Web-based product design and manufacturing platform to support trans-regional and platform-independent global manufacture,in the production process of enterprise.Traditional CAD software based on the stand-alone or LAN is gradually turned to the Web-based application mode.This paper analyses the developing direction of CAD system in the era of Internet, discusses several key technologies of Web-based CAD system,including system architecture and developing tactics, the Web-relevant network technology, pure Java technology,Web component model technology,Web-based technology of graphics interactivity and system maintaining & upgrade technology,etc..Through combining above relevant technologies,a Web-based CAD prototype System, WCS, is designed and implemented.As a system for verification,WCS possesses the functions of dynamic version update and Web-based graphics interactivity between distant hosts,besides the basic functions of traditional CAD softwares.
