Broadband Network Snmp Billing Acquisition Subsystem Design And Realization

To wide-band network,billing and management software system is extremly important. Data collection is the key part of the software system.The function and capability of data collection module affect the performance of whole software system.One or more methods can be used to get data for billing.Different methods are for defferent billing demands. Billing by month or by time are usually uesd.The following methods are commonly used for flow collection:adding gateway for collection,asking data by snmp protocol,using collection software for special devices.NFC(Network Flow Collector) is the software for flow collection of Cisco devices.NFC can not meet the special services,such as,grouping data by the direction where they come from.For the special demands, data collection module based on the theory of NetFlow Exchange was developed by Beijing Star Communication Network Technology Co.,Ltd.The two methods mentioned above can only collect the flow data of Cisco devices.For accepting data sended from devices ,the above methods may lose data sometime.To do with these problem,we need snmp data collection.In this article,data collection by snmp protocol and SNMP Data Collection Module are discussed in detail. SNMP Data Collection Module,owned by BeiJing Star Communication Network Technology Co.,Ltd, invoking Adventnet Snmp Api, are coded by Jbuilder4.SNMP Data Collection Module has the function followed:collect flow data from the devices of different company(now ,only Cisco devices can be collected),classify data based on the direction where the data come from,update the environment configuration automatically.send trap ,run on multi-flatform,etc.To improve the speed and capability of SNMP Data Collection Module,more work need to be done.
