Abstract/Summary:
A Service Level Agreement (SLA) is a formal negotiated agreement between two parties. It is a contract that exists between the Service Provider (SP) and the Customer. It is designed to create a common understanding about service quality, priorities, responsibilities, etc.The definition, lifecycle, and parameter model of SLA are introduced by the paper at first. The traditional network management system can not measure the quality of service, which lead to a network-based SLA monitoring system exists .SLA-based network monitoring system put the customers'requirements to the first position and provide a reliable division method of the quality of service, and be able to map the network running data to SLA parameters, more importantly the system give the reports to customers who want to know the quality of service. The network operation data can be provided by the data collection platform communicating with the device's agent.The paper discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the two basic methods of data collection, and then proposed to use a unified platform to collection network operation data for the other modules of the SLA system. Due to the network operation data is basic of SLA parameter mapping and classification, so it is necessary to analyze of the raw requirement data of other module of SLA system in detail. Last, by analysis of SNMP Development Kit and middleware, proposed ACE middleware as the basic framework of the data collection platform and SNMP++ development kit as the core of the data collection platform.Next, after research the technology of the load balancing, raise the importance of load balancing technology for SLA monitoring system. Then, a detailed design of load balancer is carried out.When finished to collect the network's operation data of Electronic Science and Technology University of China's Qingshuihe Campus, give an analysis to every other module, next under the SLA system's monitoring for the network, give the right analysis about the network's service status. Last by setting the appropriate scene, the load balancer's effectiveness has been tested and analyzed. Finally, there is a summary of the present work and gives some opinions on the further study of the data collection platform and load balancer.
