A new type of integrated waveguide gyroscope is reported in the paper, and the theoretical analysis and specific structure design are provided. First, The theoretical study shows that the phase of singular-direction light propagating in optical ring will shift as the system revolves. The physical essence of such a phenomenon is that the optical path in the optical ring changes as the system revolves, which is equivalent to the change of perimeter of the optical ring. When the optical ring is the optical resonator, suppose that the system is on the state of resonance. As the system revolves, because of the change of the perimeter of the optical resonator, the system is off the state of resonance. Therefore, the output power of the optical resonator changes based on the theory of optical resonator. And then, feedback the change to modulate the perimeter of the optical resonator to make it come back to the original length, which makes the optical resonator come back to the state of resonance. By measuring how much the output power of optical resonator changes, we can get the revolving information.. Based on such a theory, a new type of integrated waveguide gyroscope which can measure easily both the angular velocity and rotational direction is devised. And choose LiNbOs crystal as the underlay. Design the directional waveguide coupler, curved wavegude and modulator electrode and so on. At last, compare it with the optical gyroscope based on Sagnac effect which requires the two opposite propagating light have good coherence, the former has potential to get better performance. At the same time, we name a kind of new noise for the optical gyroscope, the dynamic revolving noise, for the first time.
